History:

Dick Ide Honda is a family owned and operated Honda Dealership in Penfield, NY. It all started in 1969, when Dick Ide opened his first dealership, Dick Ide Pontiac, in Fairport, NY. In 1973 he added the Honda franchise. A few years later, in 1977, he moved the Pontiac/Honda store to Panorama Trail.

In 1984, Dick's oldest son, Mitch Ide, opened Mitch Ide's Ideal Chevy-Olds-Geo in Geneseo, NY. Along with his wife, Anne, they ran the dealership until selling it in 2000.

In 2007 Mitch took on responsibility for the Honda dealership from his father and has been involved in daily operations. When we say family owned and operated, we mean it. Mitch is the owner, Anne is the CFO, their son, Rich is the marketing director, and Rich's wife, Stephanie is in charge of Customer Relations.

What is Dick Ide doing now?

Since retiring from the automotive business, Dick Ide has dedicated much of his time towards developing an alternative energy source. His company, Renewable Thermodynamics LLC, has been awarded 71 patents achieving this.

"At Renewable Thermodynamics LLC, we have developed and patented a revolutionary, extremely efficient, external heat source engine. This engine operates at heretofore unheard of low temperatures and pressures. We have employed revolutionary new techniques to significantly improve this engine when compared to any previous design, so much so that even when fossil fuels are used, far less are consumed.

The engine is deceptively simple in its mechanical design. It uses only low cost, readily available materials in its construction. It can be scaled in output to any desired size; from 50 watts, all the way up to power plant scale. The engine can be used to generate electricity, pump water, or to do any of a vast variety of common tasks, limited only by the imagination of the user."

The full prototype is up and running and currently undergoing additional testing to improve the efficiency and practicality of the engine. When this engine is able to be mass produced and become our primary source of power, it will lower pollution generated and resources consumed by the energy making process, as well as lower the cost of energy.
