Over the past few weeks I have been working with the Penfield High School Senior Administrators to work out the details for this year’s Car Giveaway.  Yes, we are doing the giveaway again!  All the same rules from last year apply, except we’re adding an additional way for students to get entries by having perfect attendance.  If you’re not familiar with last year’s car giveaway, here is how it worked…

Penfield Seniors were able to enter into the car giveaway in several ways.  The more entries they have, the better their chances of winning, because it is basically a raffle.  Students would get 1 entry for filling out a form at the Pontiac building, 1 entry for filling out a form at the Honda building, and 1 entry for entering online on our website.  Students would also get 2 entries if someone buys a car from us and says that they would like to sponsor a student.  The final way was through grades, students could bring in their report cards, an A average eared 4 entries, a B earned 3, C 2, D 1…  Now for the 2010 giveaway, we’re adding the perfect attendance points.

My father and I are both graduates of Penfield, and we are glad that we can help to motivate good academics.  So with all the excitement of preparing for this year’s giveaway, I decided to sit down with last year’s winner, Katie Phillips, and reflect on the event.
