The other night, Stephanie and I were getting some dinner. While we were waiting in line, some people recognized us, and began making some comments loudly to each other. ”Oh sure, no money down.” ”If it sounds too good to be true, it is.” I decided not to say anything, because I try not to just butt into people’s conversations. But I can only assume that they’re referring to some of the lease advertising we’re running right now. I just want to make a point of saying, when I get on the TV or Radio, it’s me, and I’m representing Dick Ide Honda, my family’s business for 41 years. We don’t lie or mislead anyone into anything. When I say no money down, I don’t mean “No money down, plus tax and fees” or “No money down, plus trade or cash of $2000″. Money is money. When I say no money down, I mean NO MONEY DOWN. I don’t believe in advertising with money down, no other business does it. Can you imagine Wegmans saying “This soup is only $1, after you give us $1.” No, they say it’s $2. So when we advertise our car payments, we’re doing it with no money down, and assume that you know the payments will go down if you put money down. I hope people don’t think we’re trying to hide something… because we’re not. One detail that is important to mention, with a lease, you do make your first month’s payment at the time you pick up your car. That’s not money down though, it’s just your first payment.
Come in and see for yourself, our deals may sound too good to be true… but when you’re driving away in your new Honda from Dick Ide… you’ll see…..
An interesting little quote that was e-mailed to me a while back. I thought I’d share it with you…
“They’re big, expensive, and breath-taking marvels of engineering, but to view automobiles purely as transportation is to miss their essence. Cars are the first true freedom of the adolescent, and throughout our adult years they continue to represent escape, the ability to speed away from responsibilities and cares.
Automobiles are both a means of getting from one place to another and a place in themselves, making them both conveyance and cocoon. We sing along to the radio in them, something we’d likely not dare to do at home. Our first passionate encounters take place in them. And when all other resting places fail us, we sleep in them. Automobiles are as much about private inviolate space as they are about transportation.
The importance of automobiles in our lives secures their place in the lore of our times. They are both practical and whimsical, reliable and frightening, mundane and exciting, necessary and exotic, commonplace and mysterious. They are, in other words, the mechanical expression of humanity.”
Hello! And thank you for visiting the idehonda.com blog! I have been working on the new idehonda.com site non-stop for the past week and it’s finally about ready to launch. I’m really hoping to have it up before the end of next week. Having it up before Thursday would be a real added bonus because the new zone manager from Honda is visiting the dealership on Thursday.
I realize that I am posting this before the site even goes public, but I decided to take a break from coding and designing, and play with our new blog. I, and some managers at Dick Ide Honda, will be using this blog to talk to you about Hondas, Sales Promotions, How to Maintain Your Car, and a lot about what we’re doing in the community… and more. We are looking forward to this new venue, and are excited to get your feedback. This blog is not going to just be a sales pitch all the time, I know you wouldn’t read it if it was. And honestly, I don’t think that would be very interesting. Stay tuned for more posts. And thanks for visiting our site!
