Dick Ide Honda was a part of today’s Penfield Bicentennial Charity Golf Tournament at Shadow Lake. A brand new Honda from Dick Ide Honda was up for grabs if anyone could sink a hole-in-one on hole 17. Rich and Stephanie Ide were at the tees on hole 17 to greet all of the participants and show off the Honda Crosstour. Todd Norton of AC Delco, Jeff Brooks (Dick Ide Honda Parts Manager), Mark Frey (Dick Ide Honda Service Manager), and Mitch Ide participated in the event. No one was able to sink a hole-in-one, but the weather was perfect, and everyone had a great time…. in Penfield.

This weekend, the Dick Ide Honda Team participated in the Tour de Cure, a bike ride to raise money to fight diabetes. Learn about the Tour de Cure here. Mitch and Anne Ide were part of the team, as well as Dick Ide Honda Service Manager, Mark Frey, and Sales Rep, Adam Weil. Anne Ide was honored, she was in the top 100 Fundraisers, coming in 36th for total collections in all of Rochester.

On Saturday the 5th, the Penfield High School Seniors were celebrating at their Senior Bash at the YMCA. At Midnight, Rich Ide, along with last year’s winner, Katie Phillips, and Terry Clifford from WBEE, announced the 3 winners of the Dick Ide Honda PHS Car Giveaway. The first announcement was for the winner of $500… the winner: Madeline Metzger. Next, the winner of $1,000: Iris Lioy. And then, we announce the winner of the grand prize. Congratulations to our Winner of a brand new 2010 Honda Fit… Charlene DiMeglio!

Too Good to be True?

The other night, Stephanie and I were getting some dinner. While we were waiting in line, some people recognized us, and began making some comments loudly to each other. ”Oh sure, no money down.” ”If it sounds too good to be true, it is.” I decided not to say anything, because I try not to just butt into people’s conversations. But I can only assume that they’re referring to some of the lease advertising we’re running right now. I just want to make a point of saying, when I get on the TV or Radio, it’s me, and I’m representing Dick Ide Honda, my family’s business for 41 years. We don’t lie or mislead anyone into anything. When I say no money down, I don’t mean “No money down, plus tax and fees” or “No money down, plus trade or cash of $2000″. Money is money. When I say no money down, I mean NO MONEY DOWN. I don’t believe in advertising with money down, no other business does it. Can you imagine Wegmans saying “This soup is only $1, after you give us $1.” No, they say it’s $2. So when we advertise our car payments, we’re doing it with no money down, and assume that you know the payments will go down if you put money down. I hope people don’t think we’re trying to hide something… because we’re not. One detail that is important to mention, with a lease, you do make your first month’s payment at the time you pick up your car. That’s not money down though, it’s just your first payment.

Come in and see for yourself, our deals may sound too good to be true… but when you’re driving away in your new Honda from Dick Ide… you’ll see…..

Has Your Car Been Vibrating Lately?

During the winter we get a phone call every now and then from a customer concerned about vibration in their steering wheel when traveling at higher speeds (over 35mph). Well, today we received a significantly high number of calls regarding this issue. As anyone in Rochester is aware, today we had a ton of snow! A lot of you got stuck had some difficulty getting out of your driveway today (I know I did). When this happens, it increases the chances of ice and snow building up on the inside of your wheels, resulting in the vibrations you feel when driving at high speeds. There are several ways to fix this:
If your garage is warm enough, the snow should melt off overnight.
Take your car through a car wash, the spray should knock out and melt the snow.
Or, if you’re concerned about the vibration, please feel free to bring your vehicle in to us at Dick Ide Honda, we’d be happy to take a look at it.
