2027 Honda Civic Hatchback Gas and Hybrid Guide
2027 Honda Civic Hatchback · Gas & hybrid
A little more room for whatever comes next.
A rear hatch changes how a small car fits your day. Compare gas and hybrid power, useful space and the equipment you will enjoy.

Make room for the everyday things
The hatch is the point.
A wide opening and 24.5 cubic feet behind the rear seats make loading different from a traditional trunk. Honda lists that same seats-up cargo figure for gas and hybrid trims.
Use the 60/40 split-folding rear seat for a longer load. A removable, side-pull cover helps keep belongings out of sight. Bring your stroller or everyday gear to see how it fits.

Choose your kind of drive
Gas or hybrid?
Start with your driving.
Gas: Sport
A 2.0-liter engine, CVT and front-wheel drive. Sport keeps the starting price lower.
Sport Hybrid and
Sport Touring Hybrid
The two-motor hybrid recharges through the engine and regenerative braking. No plug required. Both powertrains use regular unleaded fuel.
Test both in the driving you normally do. Fuel use and possible savings depend on your route, weather, driving habits and other conditions.

A few useful answers
Before you choose.
What is the difference between the gas and hybrid Civic Hatchback?
Sport has a 150-hp gasoline engine. Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid have 200 total system hp. EPA city/highway ratings are 30/38 MPG for Sport and 50/44 MPG for the hybrids; actual mileage varies.
What does Sport Touring Hybrid add over Sport Hybrid?
Both have the same hybrid output and EPA ratings. Touring adds leather-trimmed power front seats, a 9-inch screen, wireless phone compatibility, Bose audio, parking sensors and Honda S+ Shift. Compare the equipment you would use rather than expecting more horsepower.
Do I need to plug in the Civic Hatchback Hybrid?
No. The engine and regenerative braking recharge the hybrid battery. You fill it with gasoline rather than arranging home charging or finding a public charging station.
Does the Civic Hatchback require premium gasoline?
No. Honda specifies regular unleaded for the gas and hybrid trims shown here. Follow the fuel guidance in the owner’s manual for your vehicle.
Is all-wheel drive available on the 2027 Civic Hatchback?
The trims shown here are front-wheel drive. If all-wheel drive is one of your requirements, tell us before choosing so we can help you compare suitable vehicles.
Does the Civic Hatchback have a manual transmission or a CVT?
Sport uses a continuously variable transmission with paddle shifters. The hybrids use Honda’s two-motor system with a direct drive unit and deceleration selectors. None of the trims shown here has a conventional manual transmission.
How is the Civic Hatchback different from the Civic Sedan?
The Hatchback has a large rear opening and 24.5 cubic feet behind the rear seats; Honda lists 14.8 cubic feet for the Sedan’s trunk. Compare the opening and try your own gear, because volume alone does not guarantee fit.
Does the hybrid lose any hatchback cargo space?
No difference appears in Honda’s published seats-up figure: Sport, Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid each have 24.5 cubic feet behind the rear seats. This is not a maximum folded-seat measurement.
How many people does the Civic Hatchback seat, and do the rear seats fold?
It seats five and has a 60/40 split-folding rear seatback. You can fold part of the seat for a longer item while keeping the other part available for a passenger, subject to proper seating and cargo securement.
Which Civic Hatchback trims have heated seats, leather seats and a moonroof?
Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid have heated front seats and a power moonroof. Touring adds leather-trimmed seats and power adjustment for the front seats. Sport has cloth seating.

No. Sport and Sport Hybrid use wired connections with a 7-inch screen. Sport Touring Hybrid has a 9-inch screen and wireless compatibility. A compatible phone and setup are required; bring your phone to check it with us.
Does the Civic Hatchback come with a spare tire?
Sport includes a compact spare. Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid use a tire repair kit. Check the individual vehicle and owner’s manual so you know what is supplied and how to handle a tire problem.
Does the Civic Hatchback have remote engine start?
Remote engine start is standard on the trims shown here. It lets the climate system begin warming or cooling the cabin before you enter. We can show you the key-fob controls and operating requirements.
Which safety and parking assistance features are included?
Honda Sensing, blind-spot information and rear cross-traffic monitoring are standard. Sport Touring Hybrid adds front and rear parking sensors and low-speed braking control. These features have operating limits and do not replace attentive driving.
Does the displayed starting price include destination?
Starting TSRPs shown include the $1,295 destination charge. Taxes, license, registration, options, accessories, $455 premium paint where applicable and the $175 dealer documentation fee are additional. Dealer prices may vary.
